Munro Challenge 2016

Ten Clark Contracts employees climbed Beinn Narnain on Saturday 2nd July to raise money for our local nominated charity the Accord Hospice.

The Munro Challenge was undertaken by ten employees from divisions and departments across the company including Fit Out, Maintenance, Marketing, Construction and Small Works.

Beinn Narnain, one of the Arrochar Alps, is 926 metres high and is a very rocky mountain with several false summits.

The team met at the Succoth car park with the walking kicking off just after 8.30am. The conditions were not favourable with rain, wind and only a small amount of sun breaking through every now and then.

A few participants were carrying injuries but managed to struggle through and all ten climbers reached the peak within three hours. There was a well deserved rest and recuperation at the top of Beinn Narnain as the team enjoyed their lunch and some refreshments before heading back down.

Four of the group decided climbing 926 metres to the peak of Beinn Narnain and back down again wasn’t enough and took a 30 minute detour before finally making it back to the car park.

Once everyone was safely back at ground level, the team met at the Arrochar Hotel for a well earned break and rest before the journey home.

The Just Giving page for the event is still taking donations, please click here to donate. Clark Contracts regularly undertake events to raise money for their local nominated charity the ACCORD Hospice who provide free specialist palliative medical and nursing care to Renfrewshire and parks of East Renfrewshire.
