The University of Glasgow has re-appointed Clark Contracts to their new multi–Contractor Construction Framework Agreement for a fifth consecutive time since the initial framework in 2006.

This appointment will see Clark Contracts deliver construction, refurbishment and fit out works up to £7m over the next 2 - 6 years.

The contractor has been appointed to both lot 1 and lot 2 of the framework, with Lot 1 comprising refurbishment and maintenance projects up to £500k and Lot 2 covering construction, refurbishment and fit out projects between £500k and £7m.

The framework will include the delivery of Operations and Capital projects across various building types including student accommodation, laboratories, offices, and teaching spaces within the operational university campus.

Clark Contracts has been working with the University of Glasgow since the 1990’s and have completed over 350 projects on the majority of buildings within the Gilmorehill and Garscube campuses.

Projects recently delivered include the internal refurbishment of the Maths and Stats Building, the major restoration of the Category A listed James Watt North Building and various laboratory refurbishments including within the Davidson Building, Joseph Black Building, Rankine Building and Graham Kerr Building.

Gordon Cunningham, Managing Director, Clark Contracts, said: “Having worked with the University of Glasgow since the 1990’s, we are thrilled to be continuing our longstanding partnership for a fifth decade.

“The University of Glasgow has created a strategic framework which is very much in line with our own strategy of working with customers who embrace partnerships at all levels and stages of the construction process.”

“One of my first projects when I joined Clark Contracts in 1999, was a refurbishment within the Garscube campus, and since then, we have refurbished and built many new buildings across the entire university campus. Our knowledge and experience of the university’s estate, enables us to deliver innovation from the design stages, working in partnership with all stakeholders, to ensure we achieve best value.”

“We look forward to building upon our shared aspirations and continuing our partnership over the coming years to support the University of Glasgow with the delivery of their ambitious Estate Strategy.”
