This month, Clark Contracts recognised long-serving Contracts Manager, Billy Simpson, as he retired from the business.

Billy has retired following 10 years at Clark Contracts and over 45 years within the construction industry.

Having joined Clark Contracts as Project Manager in 2013, Billy delivered a range of projects including the construction of new Community Custody Units at HMP Greenock and the refurbishment of the Category A listed Custom House, also in Greenock.

He was then promoted to Contracts Manager in 2016 and has overseen projects delivered by the contractor’s Construction Division. These have included the design and build of new industrial units in Kilmarnock, construction of the Mary Stewart Building within the University of Glasgow’s Garscube Campus and recently the £10m refurbishment of the former Dalmarnock Purifier Studios, to create Eastworks, for Clyde Gateway.

To mark his retirement, and thank him for his service, Billy was presented with gift vouchers for a golf store and one of his favourite restaurants.

Director, Michael Scanlan, said, “Billy has been a valuable and dedicated member of our team over the last 10 years, and we wish him all the best for his retirement. I am sure he will be missed by all his colleagues who he has worked with over the years.”
