23 February 2010

Building a new renal dialysis out-patient unit at Glasgow’s Western Infirmary and the fit out of four medical wards are key features of two contracts with a combined contract value of £3.9m awarded to Clark Contracts by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

The first contract worth £2.7m includes alterations and adaptations of an existing building, upgrading six bedded wards, creating smaller wards, shower facilities and doctors rooms. This contract has now been completed.

The £1.2m fit out of the Medical Assessment Unit was started in the November with completion expected in April 2010.

Steve Clark, Chairman, Clark Contracts said: “We are delighted to have been awarded these contracts. We have extensive experience of working in a live hospital environment and know exactly what is required to ensure the hospital operates through the duration of our works.”

The construction division at Clark Contracts has previously completed various projects on behalf of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde including work at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Easterhouse Healthcare Centre, Florence Street Clinic and the Southern General Hospital.
